Hi,
My Flatcoat Retriever mix, now 2 years old, rescued at 8 months, has a 'different' (to me anyway) behavior trait. When he meets other dogs, he drools excessively. He's like a dripping faucet from his mouth. Anyone else notice this on their dogs? He is extremely friendly with most dogs, but he gets so excited to see them, they end up all wet. It's actually kind of funny to see.
Just wondering.

Don't spend 2 dollars to have a shirt dry cleaned. Donate it to the Salvation Army. They'll clean it and put it on a hangar. Next morning you can buy it back for 75 cents.

I've got a Siberian Husky that does that. In fact, he drooled to excess his first three weeks after he moved here. It's atypical for the breed and I find it a bit obnoxious, but it makes it easy to tell when he's excited.

Blade and Clovis do that when it is dinner time but I have never seen them do it
with another dog. Blade will literally leave a puddle on the ground if I am giving
them something extra and preparing it.

elliott drools great big gobbets of slime when he's excited. i think he must've been a Mastiff in a former life. it's truly disgusting. apparently the pogoing and hyena screaming aren't enough to tip me off that he's excited? (i love bunny season. no, really.)

Pan has a pretty dry mouth for a Dane, but will drool at the dog park. I know a Sibe who does this only at the dog park as well. And, there's Pitbull who comes off and on who will throw up every time she comes there. Chalk it up to excitement.

Rocky drool long strands of slime whenever the hint of food is in the air. Luckily, Friday is right there to lick them off before they hit the floor. Now that's disgusting, though appreciated.

Matt. Rocky's a Dog.

poor thing. it sounds like an all-canine episode South Park.

Nope, try The Osbournes. The pitbull is actually the actor who plays the bulldog in The Osbournes family.

his very own cleanup crew!
harriet drools dainty little spit bubbles when it's time to eat. they're pretty cute. elliott will drool for food, too, but it's usually not like the slingers of industrial strength adhesive he spews when he's excited.
