I got this email (below my sig) from a reliable source and am posting it here bec. not much seems to be happening in the rescue ng. I've removed info that identifies the sender.
I'm adding some contact info gleaned from the web:

The Dukes of Hazard new movie has been filmed in the BR, LA area. They adopted a dog from the Baton Rouge shelter to use in the movie & then dumped it back at the shelter when they left the movie set. Below is a number to comment on this.
Alright everyone, get your ire on.
I got the phone number to the Warner Bros. production office in charge of the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I can't understand the man's name on the voice mail recording, but it's Jay something (Chandrasekhar - flick) and his assistant is Tara.
The phone number is 818-954-6725.
Everyone quick make a short phone call explaining your outrage at their decision to throw away this poor dog. I left a message already telling them that there are a couple hundred rescuers down south that are irate this happened and we want to know where we can write letters to complain.

I left my name and phone number, but don't really expect a return phone call. However, if a couple hundred of us leave messages, I think they'll get the idea and they'll have to respond SOMEHOW! Right?

I'm also working on getting contact info. for the producer and executive producer who were down here for this movie. I have a friend with contacts in the Louisiana Film office of the governor's office.

Here, the word "reliable" is very subjective, but you are only the messenger.
If this really happened, the dog will be famous and wanted by many potential adopters. Chances are, the studio saved the dog's life. The dog is not guaranteed a good home, but we can hope for the best.

I wonder what response you or your "reliable source" would like from the studio. I'd be careful: they might send tickets to that pathetic, moronic movie.
(O.T.: I can't believe the bimbo they hired to play Catherine Bach's character, Daisy Duke.)

My impression from the email is that the trainer (?) adopted the dog under false pretenses, and then returned the dog to the shelter when they were finished with it.
You think a dog's going to go out to a hopefully forever home. To adopt a dog out to somebody who actually wants to "borrow" it... I don't like it.

IMO this email wouldn't have gone out if the trainer (?) had been honest from the get-go and said, hey, we'd like to use this dog in the movie, but we aren't going to keep him, and we'll train him and you'll reap the benefit of that.

If the thing happened as I suspect, an apology would be in order. I'd accept tickets - and use them to light my trash pile.

There is a lot on tv that I see that I cannot believe.

We don't have TV. No cable, no reception. We own 2 - one is for Nintendo , and we rent movies from time to time. There's a heck of a lot of decent family entertainment at the video store.
Jessica Simpson, the star of the new Dukes movie, appealed to "tweens," and I've got a 13yo daughter. We saw part of the video of "These Boots" and I was appalled. Just appalled. My daughter pronounced it "nasty." Insert rant on pervasive casual sex crap in our culture, which is one reason we don't have TV.
Ms. Simpson has lost her "tween" audience, in this household.

Join the "I'm with Cooter" crowd ( http://www.cootersplace.com/news movie.asp ) The original show was stupid but basically decent, and my understanding of this one is that it's stupid and not decent. Ironically, the original Daisy Duke character was pretty smart, and having her played by Jessica Simpson is just Wrong.
I saw someone wearing Daisy Dukes at the grocery store the other day. That was a ridiculous fashion in the 1970s and it has not improved with time.

Scientific Fact: A woman's fondness for Daisy Dukes is directly proportionate to the way she looks in them.

An utterly ridiculous question - did she have ANY business wearing anything resembling them?
