Mooshoo the milksnake is At Large, again. Escaped his feeding tub last night after dinner. How long can a 5' bright red snake hide in a 15'x15' room??

He already knocked over some stuff, too. Last time he was loose in there he broke stuff, knocked stuff over, tore stuff off the walls... le sigh. Such a brat.

Just a guess, but I'd say long enough to break stuff, knock stuff over, maybe tear some stuff off the walls.

You need to tie a bell around his neck or do like Don Soderberg does with one of his escape artist milksnakes; he puts a necklace of masking tape on him, doubled, sticky side in and sticky side out, and lets him Go Where He Wilt.
Tim Curran of Radical Reptiles solved his Honduran chronic escape artist problem as well. Sold him to me.
Still no eggs?

Still no eggs?

No, and I'm really starting to fear my children's python is eggbound and ill. Emotion: sad
My aussie friend assures me to give it another 2 weeks before I take her in to the vet. Arrr.

Not being there, I can't say either way. When you have a snake with eggs, it seems like time stands still waiting for the eggs to drop!!

Hopefully, the snake isn't egg bound. Do you have a qualified vet that will be able to treat your snake in the event it is egg bound?

Is your snake drinking at all? Is your snake passing urates at this time? Does your snake make trips out of the box, or does it just sit coiled up in the box? Does your snake make any attempt at rolling its body? How close to the vent is the first egg? What's the temp and humidity in the laybox?
A lot of questions, but the answers may tell what's happening.
Good Luck!

Oh dear Emotion: sad ... I know how you feel though as my corns have made several escapes in the last few weeks. They never seem to stray too far though so are quite easily found eventually. Cyra was found curled up in one of my training shoes the other day LOL! It was the recognisable whiff of a pile of poo that helped me locate her, as she'd left a lovely present for me on my CREAM carpet!!!
I hope you manage to find Mooshoo soon before he does too much damage. As to bright colours, I'm not sure that helps a great deal as Cyra is bright orange/red but she managed to stay hidden for 3 days before I found her and I actually searched for her this time cos I have a wimpy friend who wouldn't come into the flat while she was on the loose Emotion: big smile
