So instead of sinking posts into my kitchen floor and stringing chainlink, I was thinking of Midwest exercise pens. This place seems to have good pricing, even once you add on delivery:

Any feedback on Midwest brand pens and/or this e-tailer would be most appreciated.

I have two Midwest crates (are they the biggest wire crate manufacturer?). One is six years old and the other is, I think, about 4 years old, and they've both held up well in what is admittedly not particularly stressful use. I'd buy another one.

I've got that new puppy "spoil him rotten" fever thing going... I've got a perfectly good very heavy duty wire crate here that will be the perfect size for a full grown GR, but those foldable ones with 2 doors look oh so appealing. Especially when I think of the room placement options!

(Yeah, I realize I'd be buying it for me and not him...)

Thanks for the thumbs up for Midwest. I have no idea who makes the 2 crates we have. The big one is about 20 years old, though, and in great shape. I'm going to have to measure it because, come to think of it, it might just be too big!

We really liked having a couple of very cheap travel crates for little puppies. Easy to move from room to room, etc. By the time they outgrow that, they're pretty well done with house training.

You can use crate dividers. Sure is less expensive than new crates/ex pens.
