Do you have an exotic reptile that you no longer can care for? I have raised many different species. I do not take snakes or animals that commonly bite their handlers.
Currently, I am raising the following: Crested Geckos, Sulcata Tortoises, and Waxy Monkey Frogs.
My reptiles are all very healthy and receive lots of attention.

If your reptile meets the above basic qualifications, and you want it to be cared for properly but can no longer do so yourself, send me an email.
If your reptile is not healthy, please do not respond, as I do not want to risk injury to the other animals.

Jerry,
Although your offer is admirable, having been involved with reptile rescues for the better part of 20+ years, very seldom will you come across reptiles that are no longer wanted by their owners that are in any type of good health (as others here who work with rescues can attest to).

At the very least many of these reptiles suffer from a poor diet, some with parasites, and most with long-term medical ailments from a combination of what was mentioned above (including physical injuries).

However, if you are willing to work with these types of abandoned reptiles (less than perfect and in need of a LOT of attention); you may find that it can be extremely enjoyable (and at times depressing when you see how others can let an animal deteriorate).
A BIG bonus to this type of work is you would be surprised at how much knowledge one can gain by working with different species..

A word to the wise however, this is not an endeavor to jump in to if one is thinking "What a cool way to get free herps"..as with anything, "free" comes with a price.

"Karen" or did you just reach up and pull that information out of your cavernous ***?
Speaking of CUNTS, you should know all about it. Reptile , hairy legs and under-arms, you rarely bathe, and you live in an efficiency in the back of someone's Trailer Park lot.

Were you ever on THE WALTONS as a guest-kid?
"Slither Factory" "What a cool way to get free herps"..>> Jerry sounds like a grave-robber who is looking for FREE ... Adult Book Store for quarters. Then you can afford your own Herps. Maybe what he really wants is FREE HERPES.

Jody,
I think you are mentally ill and will not even address your comments.

Karen, you are the only rational one posting to this message. What is wrong with some of the people here? I can happily say that the people that I have met while raising reptiles have been some of the nicest people around. This board though, has many juveniles posting.

Let me put a question out there to all that are capable of rational thought: Do you know where a person could bring a reptile that is in good health, but no longer wanted?
I have 22 reptiles (All paid for!)..money is not a concern nor an issue here. But..with 22 other reptiles, I don't really want to chance contaminating them by dealing with someones sickly animal. I'm not looking to take on other peoples problems..but by taking in the reptiles, I would head off issues before they become problems.

I don't know anywhere where someone could bring a reptile that they no longer wish to deal with...I hope that if the time comes when I can no longer care for my reptiles, I have someone willing to give them a good home.
One final thing..nobody(Including me) owns this board. We can only recommend. I recommend posting on the xxx boards for the boneheads that wish to trash talk. This board is not the place.

A respectable rescue organization
Sell it to another responsible owner
trade it for something else
return it to the pet store
And those are just the first 4 that pop into mind. I'm sure I could think of more if I tried.
Don't get me wrong - I wish you luck in your quest for free healthy animals. I just don't think you'll be too successful in it.
Also - what would you think if someone asked you if you wanted to give them your well-maintained car because perhaps you'd grown tired of the color?
What you're asking isn't much different.

I guess you wouldn't like Julia Roberts hairy pits if she wanted to go out on a date with you

Indeed, most people want to sell their healthy animals for money, I think the only reptile that would be frequently offered to homes for free in the US would be the unfortunate green iguana. If you ever want an ig, be sure to check out your local reptile rescue instead of buying one from the pet shop.

Fortunately, here in Ireland baby iguanas are ten times the price they are in the US, thus preventing young kids being able to buy them
