We're building an environment for a couple fire-belly toads, and are wondering if we could add a small lizard or two and/or some fish. We're using a 30-gal aquarium with a 50/50 water/land setup and a small river setup.
I figure some raised areas for the lizards would keep them seperate, and I'm not too sure about the fish. I figure a couple little neons would work OK..
The tank will be filtered by the pump creating the river. Let me know what you all think! Thanks

I would put lizards in with them. Fire belly toads skin does secrete toxins. The fish might get eaten or also die from the toxins when the toads swim.
How about leopard geckos or small long tailed lizards? Anyone else have a word on the fish?
i wouldnt put lizards with them. the toads are aggressive and what about when the lizards wanna go get a drink then they have to go down and get a drink where they could drink in some of the toxins from the toads when they drink water or the toads might go after them or vice versa and the lizards might attack the toads. its never good to mix different species of animals in a cage. in the wild animals can get away from each other but not when in a tank.

Leopard geckos need a lot drier of an environment than what you'll have in your tank. If anything, look into green anoles.

Anything the toad can fit into its mouth it will eat, I'm thinking the neons would be lunch

I think Rev meant to say "wouldn't" put lizards in with them as he mentioned that toads skin secretes TOXINS making it bad for the lizards. Also, the toad would probably eat the fish
What about mixing them with a firebelly newt or two?
definatly not, in most petstores they house firebelly newts with firebelly toads and ya always see newts with missing legs n stuff. wicked bad idea.
