You only know the eeevil pitty girl Isabelle through my posts here. She turned up lame a couple of weeks back, and despite rest, treatment etc. her inflamed toe had not become better, so she was taken in for an X-ray today. As it turns out, there is something seriously wrong, and they have to amputate her toe. The doctor thinks that it is a bacterial or fungal infection of the bone. That's the bad news. Worse news is that the alternate explaination for this is that she has cancer. They'll biopsy the bone and also remove an enlarged lymph node from the same leg to check out that possibility.
Would really appreciate it if you could send some good vibes her way, so she only turns into a rare, 3 toed pit bull.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the ACE discussion on .breeds. That info is coming in handy.

Oh no...that's the first thing that popped into my mind when you said they planned to amputate the toe. I sure hope that isn't the case & Izzy is back to good soon!

It's done! I know someone with a two-toed Malinois, so it's possible! :-) Shelly & The Boys

So much for her fighting career, eh?
Seriously, all canine and human brains here are sending good vibrations. (At least, I'm making the effort - the dogs are always nice.)

If only she learned to bat her eyelashes, she wouldn't have to show off her pearly whites so much.

Only what y'all can spare, one hopes. There is a particular healthy streak that I don't want to see affected by overdoing the vibrations.

She goes in for surgery tomorrow. Since Khan is her bestest buddy in the world, they picked him up and went for a romp on Sunday. We couldn't go because it was our nephew's B'day, and with both his parents sicker than dogs, I decided to do the cooking. But, all of us went for a nice little walk again yesterday evening. I've let Marcy know that I'll be available to help out whenever she needs it.

The more I read up on the stuff, the more likely it seems that this is not good news. For now, we have a self imposed ban on reading up about this. It'll take about a week for the biopsy results to come back - plenty of time to do all the reading we want after that.
