It may seem strange that I've kept over 100 lizards turtles frogs and amphibians, but never a snake. Until now : )
Well, I guess technically I've had a few snakes, but this is my first real snake. I have kept Sonoran Groundsnakes, and Rough Earth Snakes. Anything that is 10 inches long, as wide as pencil and eats bugs, though, I dont really consider a snake.
Last night at the DFWHS meeting I picked up a 2 month old CB Mexican Rosy Boa. Sweet little thing, I think its a great choice for the first snake in my collection. I can see the ball rolling fast though, I've already fell in love with Rosys and Sand boas. I think a Kenyan Sand Boa is next, and I'm trying like hell to not find a CB Rubber Boa : )
I know it is in great health, especially considering the source. Carl Franklin that wrote the La Paz, Baja Sur article in last months Reptiles mag bred these animals. And I think the $30 I paid is a great price ! Just had to share !

The good news is I think you got a great deal!
The..other..news is that I wonder what this will cost you, over the next ten years. You can't ever eat one potato chip.

You would know. How many snakes do you plan on getting this week?

One million nine hundred and thirty four. Charging them all to you.

Why? You got a problem with what I own?
Adam, here's another one for you.
And..by the way, if anyone else that I don't know on this list who clearly doesn't know me has any trouble with my owning snakes (3 grown,
9 hatchlings BTW, no other reptiles), or my dogs, or my family name,or the way in which I practice medicine, or my deodorant, or whether I use spellcheck or have hair on my upper lip, feel free to express it. Your comments make a TREMENDOUS contribution to the herp list. They enlighten and entertain us all. Maybe you can talk George Bush into pulling my Green Card. LOL you weenies, you just don't want to quit.
