Hi,
I have an active, seemingly healthy corn snake who's about 3 years old. Until recently he would eat a medium rat every week to week and a half. But now he has stopped eating. I have tried several times over the past 2 1/2-3 weeks to get him to eat but he seems to have lost interest. However, he is very active, out and about, drinking water.
Should I be worried?
Oh, he typically has eaten frozen mice and rats since birth. I thaw them out in warm/hot water for 5-10 mins prior to giving them to him.

thanks,
David

I wouldn't worry right now, it's spring and all animals want to breed. He/she's looking for a mate. Only time I would start to worry about a snake not eating is if it goes 6 months without a meal, or it starts to visibly lose a lot of weight. Then you do the whole fecal/vet visit ordeal to try to figure it out.

Don't worry about it, snakes go off feed for months on end all the time. At 3 years, he's probably looking to mate.
It's normal, relax. The only time you should worry is if he starts to look thin or acts odd.
My two corn snakes have gone off their food as well as the other replys to your message have stated its breeding time corn snake become sexually mature at about the age of your corn snake is so dont worry, but if you want to try and breed him/her then its a good thing to try and can be very rewarding there are lots of tips on how to sucssefully breed corn snakes as they are the easiest to keep.

Any way i hope you dont worry to much just keep trying to feed him/her every two weeks untill the end of spring.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess he's just frisky...as he certainly doesn't have a lack of energy!
