Can somebody help me please
I have had a pair of florida king snakes since about 8 months old and one of them has just laid eggs. I had no idea!
I have moved the eggs (on advice from the net) and placed them in a small tank with heat, used vermiculite as substrate with plenty of water. the temp is currently at about 78f (26 C).
Ive not got a clue on how to incubate/hatch these. Its all a surprise

any advice please

It's impossible that your snake is 8 months old. If she has laid eggs, she's at least 2 years old.

Vermiculti - water ratio must be 1:1 by volume, not weight (i.e. 1 cup of vermiculite and 1 cup of water). Too wet substrate makes the eggs mold. Temps are fine, they could be a bit higher (around 27-29°C), but better a little cooler than a little too hot. If the temps are lower, the eggs simply take more time to hatch, while if they are too high, the eggs die.

I don't know the incubation period of king snake eggs, but, beeing still in the cold season, it should be around 80 days. Somebody micht correct me please if I'm wrong.

I think he means he's had them since they were 8 months?

I think you're right on the 80 days. I've never really had kingsnake eggs, however. You might want to check out some of the king snake breeding sites online-just use google to search.

He's had them since they were 8 months old, I wonder how old the snake is now?
