My dalmatinian puppy begs for food all the time and I don't really know if he's hungry or naughty. How often must I feed him? Any advice is appreciated!

Pups should be fed between 3-4 small meals a day until around 8/9 months when they can go on to 2 meals a day.

With a good quality dry food the recommended daily amount is around 400g this means you will give him 100g 4 times a day. Do not feed him scraps. Dogs are scavengers and will continue to beg even when their bellies are near to bursting point.
Hi Julia,

Dalmatians usually eat very quickly and it seems that they are constantly hungry. You cannot give him as much food as he demands, as this can result into overweight and various diseases. An adult Dalmatian should be fed 1-2 times a day (preferably 2). The quantity of daily ration should be 3-6 cups of food, depending on the weight and the activity level. By the way, is your puppy male or female? Sometimes adult females need quite less than 2 cups of food a day.

As to puppies, it is best to feed them 3-4 times a day in small portions. Has your breeder explained you in detail what and how to feed the puppy? He should have done so.
