My mom and nephew decided to have some ice cream and keep the dogs from begging (with their eyes) for some. So they went in the room and closed the door. I had to get my camera when I saw..

Oh yeah?! And how will those meanypants family members feel when those poor dogs end up with permanent snout and emotional damage from being so horribly and unfairly excluded? And what kind of person are you to go get a camera instead of rushing to their aid before they perish from lack of ice cream? You are all dog abusing thugs of the worst kind who ought to be ashamed of yourselves!!
We know how to treat our poodle. Send them out here where the girls always leave a spoonful in the bottom of the bowl for their dogs. Even my dad is trained. Have you ever seen an almost 80 year old man sneaking huge chunks of his pizza to dogs under the table? He knows my rule is no feeding dogs begging at the table, but he also knows that I can't ground him.

Try giving them Frosty Paws when you're having ice cream. My dogs love it.

Is this a good time to start drying Neo up? She shows no indication of weaning the puppies.
Evidently we live in a cave, becuse the lighting has been so bad that none of our pictures have come out. Gray skies don't help at all. Dark rooms and black puppies don't go together very well...

We MUST get pictures today because it appears as though the puppies have explodiated. They are all really round!

Some never wean on their own, but just because she hasn't yet, doesn't mean she won't eventually.

What happened to the brown dog's head; is it under the door?
I believe things would be easier for you if you did. Certainly makes regular feedings easier so housebreaking goes better.

This is my thinking. Not having a schedule makes everything very difficult. They are eating very well, so I'm not concerned about that. DH is not in favor of this because he's a big softy and he hates to think that Neo's going to starve. He said he'd be free to supervise on Tuesday. I don't think anybody needs the kind of supervision he's thinking about and since he's so busy anyway, what difference could it possibly make? I don't think he's fed the puppies solid food yet.

Watching them eat is very entertaining. Somebody is the first to eat, the others hear eating noises, so everybody goes to eat. Puppies eat for a little while, then get bored. This is followed by a lot of play and "king of the mountain" is a big favorite. After a couple of minutes of play, everybody decides to eat more.
Aside from the blow dryer, the different sounds (dropping stuff on ceramic tile is a job I was born to do), the different surfaces, etc., I think having the big box in the pen is a great idea. Puppies are going up and down the "stair" right and left. I remember how long it took Bella do deal with stairs, but I don't think these little pups will have the same learning curve.
I'm still working on many other things with little or no success, but that doesn't mean I've stopped. I'm very appreciative of people who have done a lot more in a lot less time.
And meanwhile, Neo is asserting herself around the house in a lot of different ways. Today she really tried to engage Bella in play, but Bel would have nothing of it. Neo has decided that dogs sleep on the bed whether they are invited or not. Of course, we have to remind her that she is not invited.
Bella is following the house rules like a real little suck-up. It's hilarious. DH walked both dogs the day before yesterday and declared that Neo is impossible on a leash. She wouldn't follow. Bella was perfect, of course. I took the dogs on their walk yesterday and both dogs were perfect, although Neo needed a little reminding. So she knows he's a big softy.

Please get some spotlights and remedy this situation ASAP!
