What a pretty girl, and how fun! It would never have occurred to me to take my dog out for ice cream.

You must not have an ice cream store on the way home from the vet. My dogs usually get their "pity cones" then.

Harriet is fine with going to the vet, plus, car rides are The Best, so no need for treats. Also, I have no pity.

Maui likes the car but hates hates hates the vet. Cali loves loves loves going to the vet and riding in the car. I hate to drive so I think its nice to stop for ice cream on the way home.

The local DQ offers "pup cups" - free mini cups of vanilla softserve for canine customers. Next time you're at the local ice cream stand ask if they give free pup cups to dogs. Even if they haven't previously (onnacounta nobody ever asked before) lots of time they'll give you a freebie-size cup of vanilla just for asking. There's free dog biscuits to be had at Starbucks and the bank, too.
And at the Ren Faire last weekend Scully scored free samples, gratuitous treats and best of all, a whole bunch of "aww"s when she barked her approval of brave Sir Malcom in the jousting competiton.

Ha! You, too? I am *so* not a fan of driving.
