I read a story once about a dog that was throwing up dinner every time he ate. They checked him physically, and couldn't find anything wrong. Finally a behaviorist tracked it down to his owner being bulemic. He was just immitating his owner.
I don't know if this is true, but it got me to thinking... what habits of ours do our dogs immitate?
One day I watched a guy and his dog walking down the street. The guy had a limp in one leg, it looked like a long-time limp that he'd just adjusted to. Now, it may have been coincidence, but the dog walked with the EXACT SAME limp. They wre quite a pair to watch go by.
For me, I am a bad fingernail biter. If I'm sitting on the couch biting my nails, he sits next to me biting his. Nothing's wrong with his feet - they've been checked, and he gets plenty of stimulation and doesn't show anything else that could be considered signs of boredom. Plus he only seems to do it when I'm also doing it. So the best I can figure is that he's immitating my habit.
Does anyone else have one?

I taught one of my dogs how to chew rawhide by demonstrating. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't believe it.

In Sydney a few years ago they had a dog meet with a contest for the most look-alike dog and owner pair - was won by a one legged owner with a three legged dog.

Yes! A few years ago I noticed that the quilt on my bed kept ending up pulled back to the sheets at the foot of the bed where my dog Petie sleeps. I puzzled on it and finally realized that he watches me turn down the bed every night before hitting the sack, so he must have assumed that he's supposed to be doing the same. Too funny!

Nah. If he's anything like Friday, he's pulling down the quilt so that he can lie directly on the human stink. (Maybe I should shower more?)
