I've just got my first ever snake!
She's an amelanistic corn named Jool. Jool is the shortened name of a Farscape character named Joolushka Tunai Fenta Hovalis.

She cost me 95 euros and Ben threw in four pinkies (which defrosted by the time i got them home) and a huge bag of woodchips. I've transfered her from the box Ben gave me to bring her home in complete with paper napkin from said box. I'm not going to add the substrate until tomorrow as I offered her a pinkie and I honestly didn't expect her to be relaxed enough to latch on to it immediately and I don't want to disturb her by picking her up so I can add the substrate. (Ben said she was due a pinkie today).
She's a sweet little thing, I'll just add her waterdish, I don't have to touch her to add it.
PS - I want a ball python! I held one today which went into a ball when placed onto my hand only to unfurl itself after a few minutes and start exploring along the sleeve of my jacket
Congratulations and may Jool have a ball python brother or sister soon.

Many years of joy!

Four pinkies are too much for a hatchling. How big (long) is she?

You really seam to be a big fan of Farscape, since you've named a number of your pets after the characters. I'm a big fan of science fiction and will watch just about anything in the science fiction genre, but I have to say that Farscape is just about the worst thing I've ever seen. I've tried to watch it several times given how its fans speak so fervently about how good it is, but it is so gawdawful, it is painful to watch. With its muppet-like makeup and chintzy sets, unbelievable characters who seem to have been dropped on the set each from a different other show, convoluted and disjointed storylines that must have been transcribed directly from someone's dream sequence, and an earthling character who is about as likeable as a Tarkaelian Brain Sucker.
And the writers and producers, who knew the show was going to be axed, gave its loyal fans the most unsatisfying capricious ending out of left field, bringing together 2 formerly star-crossed main characters, only to promptly disassociate their molecules. This was a blatant slap in the face to loyal viewers of a show that apparently didn't deserve that loyalty.
Hey, I'm glad you liked the show. We don't all like the same thing. I just think it really sucked. :-)

I only fed her one. The rest were supposed to go in the freezer, but since they defrosted i can't refreeze them. I guess the cat will get them when she gets back from the vet

Been biting my tongue on that one, but boy do I ever agree! Emotion: smile

Hmm.. I liked Farscape. It wasn't my favorite show by far, but it wasn't the worst I've seen
I'd say my favorite show of all time was La Femme Nikita. I suppose I just liked to drool over Michael though. Emotion: smile
Anyway, congrats on the snake! Emotion: smile

Never watched the series much.
It was a take-off of the movie "Point of No Return" with Bridget Fonda, which was a rip-off of the original "La Femme Nikita" with Anne Parillaud. "Point of No Return" was a fine movie in its own right but couldn't touch the original in its dark gritty realism and depth of emotion. One of my favourites.
Speaking of American remakes of European movies,
"The Vanishing" with Kiefer Sutherland, Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock and Nancy Travis was seen widely in North America, and while Jeff Bridges put in a chilling performance as the bad guy, the ending ruined the whole movie. If you really want to see cinematic genius in the suspense/horror genre, pick up "The Vanishing" (Dutch production) also titled "Spoorloos" with Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu, Gene Bervoetsand Johanna ter Steege. YIKES!!
