Thanks for all the responses, everyone.
It really did go very peacefully, which is all you can hope for. Today's a bit difficult to get through, but I know it'll get better.
It's been a lousy year we lost my favorite aunt, a good friend of the family, then my dad. In between there I got laid off, and still haven't found a new job. And now Maggie. But I know it'll get better.
Cheers, and thanks again..

I am so sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear about Maggie's death. The pictures you have posted are a great tribute to her, and to the care you provided her. jdoee
Longtime readers of these newsgroups are already familiar with Maggie and her health issues, but for those who aren't:

Mark,
I'm so sorry to hear of Maggie's passing. Since my dear old Zeffie is 13 and in failing health this thread reminds me that I better give her some more lovin' RIGHT now. And then some more scritches in honor of Maggie and all the dear oldsters out there.

Goodbye, Sweet Girl.

goodbye, Maggie. i'm sorry to hear she's gone, Mark. Thirteen years may sound like a pretty long life, but it's not nearly long enough.

Sounds rough, Mark, and that you've had a lot of grief this year. Be well, and I do think, with you, that it shall get better. We'll be thinking of you...

I am really sorry for your loss, I wish I could tell you something that will ease the pain, but words wont help.
However, what does seem to help is going and adopting a young puppy or dog in need just about as soon as you can stand it, your grief will be distracted and the saving of a great dog from euthanasia will be an amazing legacy for Maggie. It really helped for me. Good Luck!
