Uploaded a few more misc. photos. For the Stumpy Fan Club, he's still fat and not near molting yet:

My Argentine boa, Tina, shed tonight. He she is several days ago with cloudy eyes:

(Her shed was complete, but she wadded and rolled it up as she pulled it off. It looked like a wadded up tube sock, so I took it to my hubby and told him they have something in common.)
My young Chaco golden knee just hours after molting: Note the white chelicerae (fangs). After they harden they will turn black.

The last of the Calotes calotes that came into PNHS. He should be adopted out this month:

Pile O' Beardies from work:

A very pretty metallic pinktoe, A. versicolor :

And finally, the most flamboyantly colored tarantula I've ever seen! This is a male Xenithis ammanis :
Isn't he just awesome?!!! I took some much better pictures that I'm reserving for the calendar. :-P
And now, for off-topic pics. My annoyingly smart cat who's learned that striplights make warm beds in the winter:

And the most outreageous rooster I've ever seen. I want him!!! If I had a yard, I'd have made impulse-buyers look slow:
I think he's the embodiment of the 80's hairstyle. :-P Here's some more:

Hope you enjoy them!

Awesome pictures! I've never seen such colorful T's, VERY pretty! Good to hear Stumpy is doing well, I can't wait to see when he molts! Oh, and the cat... I can't wait until my kittens figure out that neat sleeping spot... I predict a very irritated chameleon, lol.

Most sheds I get are wadded-sock style. Some are so fresh they're still slimy! Emotion: smile

HOLY CRAP!! I can't believe he's real! Confess, confess, what's the retail value of such a surreal beauty?

I love the way you say that as if she's not always lying around on your aquariums...
The rooster is hilarious. You are such a Lynnwood woman at heart~!! Emotion: big smile

The wadded-up part was still slimy. I got it all straightened out and it's drying over a shelf. :-) Perfect shed, has eyecaps and even nostrils!

Damn, I did it again! I shouldn't be typing sci. names after midnight. :-/

I don't know. Alex bought him off a regular customer who has a huge collection and swaps adult males when they molt out. I do know the species is rare in the hobby.
John Hoke has a female for sale:
"Xenesthis immanis, Colombian Lesserblack, 6", $525" and a subadult male:
"Xenesthis immanis, 4", $225"
That'll give you a ballpark for the retail price. :-) (Shows me I misspelled the genus, too...)

The aquariums are fine, it's when she sleeps on the hood to the day geckos and knocks the heat bulbs down and breaks them!

Hey, Tommy brought home an ad that made us drool soo bad last night. A friend's coworker is moving and selling her house. It's not too far away from here, just north of Mill Creek, on the other side of I-5. 4 BR/2.5BA, on more than a 1/4 acre. Wood fence, mature natural landscaping, large deck. Hell, it's got a gazebo with an 8 person hot tub!!! $285K. Damn, I wish we were ready to buy. :-( On paper, it's perfect.

Umm, are you sure about the latin name on this one? (It could just be me, I'm sick as a dog right now, it's hard to think straight.) I did a Google search on the latin name, it kept telling me that it found no results. I even tried spelling it a couple of different ways.

It's a beautiful tarantula, I would love to read more about them if you know of somewhere to look.

I was a few letters off, it's Xenesthis immanis .

Sorry!

A very pretty metallic pinktoe, A. versicolor :

Correction, that's Avicularia metallica, not A. versicolor.

The male immanis is sweet! Too bad you don't find very many captive bred spiderlings around, they'd come down a bit in price. I had a friend breed his female, got a sack from her, but while he was away at school for the week his mother sprayed the room with Raid. Lost the female and the sac (he opened the sac, found eggs with legs). Needless to say, he was devastated.

I'm expecting a new order tomorrow.
3" Female Tapinauchenius plumipes
3" Female Tapinauchenius latipes
3/4" Tapinauchenius purpureus
1" Ephebopus uatuaman
Been waiting a long time for the Taps, I've had a major obsession with that genus for a while. Now I need T. gigas and T. elanae!
