So I saw this movie Frogs last night. It was made in 1972. There are a TON of great reptile specimens in this movie! Aside from the evil, forboding frogs en masse... there are monitors (I think they're niles), tokays (like a whole pack of em!), rat snakes, perhaps a pine snake, a rattlsnake (eastern diamondback I think?), and other snakes and lizards I couldn't identify. The storyline is a bit cheesy but I liked it: a rich tycoon is vacationing on an island and because he and his family are responsible for a bunch of pollution, the frogs rise up to make their reptilian friends (as well as birds AND some spanish moss) attack and kill these humans (though mostly indirectly).
Sam Elliot plays our hero. He was SO YOUNG!! And all muscley@!~

Highly recommended for herp lovers! Go rent the DVD and laugh at its silliness!! My housemate was kicking himself for watching it with me... "arrrgh quit naming the reptiles already!" he said. Emotion: big smile

I LOVE B-rated reptile movies. This one is one of my favorites. The killer tokay gecko sequence was so funny. It was shot at Eden Gardens State Park, right here in my area (about 45 minutes away). Beautiful place to go sight seeing for herps.

Howdy,
On a similar note, I recall watching "SS" and "Stanley" on a double feature at the local drive-in. more years ago than I care to admit! I've seen "SS" on the late movie a couple of times since, but hadn't thought about "Stanley" until reading this post. I don't recall a whole lot about "Stanley", just a "Billy Jack" type of loner, who used his pet diamondback to seek retribution on society.

Does anyone else recall these gems?
Stay safe,
