They lay there playing together, and one will start licking the others' face, and it sometimes turns into an extended deep mouth licking/french kissing session.
ugh! Should I discourage it, and separate them temporarily?

Nah, dogs do that. I doubt there's any passion involved.

My chihuahuas also get into extended ear-frenching sessions (although I have to say that until I read your post I only thought of it as "ear reaming"), along with face-licking and eye-licking.
