My kitten, a girl, is about 2 months old. She is too lively, constantly tries to bite, particularly it's bothering in the night. When I hide my hands, she can rush into the face. She bites with agression and it hurts. Toys do not help: the room is covered with many balls, toy mice, feathers on string... well she actually plays with them too but a living body, it appears much more interesting. Emotion: smile

How can I break her of this habit? She isn't a dog so I can't build up any hierarchy, neither do I want to break her character. I just want a sweet friend.

I grew up with a cat (she stayed with my parents) that has never bitten or scratched anyone for 15 years! This is another reasons why I have no idea what to do with my furry imp yet it's not too late.

You should try to train your kitty. Teach her to respond to the "No" and "Don't do that" commands. Never beat it because this will only embitter the kitten, since she won't realize why you behave like this. The best way is to break unwanted actions (to take her off the table, the window, etc). Say the "No" command when you are doing that. For example, the easiest way to make her stop biting your hands is to take her gently by the scruff of the neck (like mothers take kittens), and to say something like, "No, you are a bad girl, don't do that. No!" And then don't play with her and don't allow anyone to do so for some time.

No, cats do have hierarchy too. Emotion: smile Now you have to take the place of her mother, and then to become an alpha-cat for your cat family. Yet the kitty is young, you are supposed to stroke and brush it often - like her mom would lick her fur to clean it. Make the kitty obey your commands but never apply force for that, it's a very important note. Try to cooperate. Be persistent and patient, but never cruel. Remember that cats understand our voice intonations perfectly, so do use them. Good luck!

I have the same very prob. What can I do in the night? If I let my kitty in, he starst biting and won't let me sleep. If I put him out of the room door, he cries like a baby. How can I help it?
Get another kitty. The more cats you have, the better. They can busy each other. xD

Keep a sprayer with clean water beside. You may spend a couple of days in a wet bed then, but hopefully no one will bite you in the future. Emotion: wink
