Hi folks
A friend has just returned from Vietnam where she photographed this turtley thing in an aquarium. We're curious to know what it is, so if anyone can help..
Thanks
Glenn

h
try FLY RIVER TURTLE, too
Hi Cindy
Yes it had flippers
Definitely not FRTs or PNTs.
Trionyx Sinensis - Chinese Soft Shell Turtle. A very fat specimen to be exact. =)
Widely available here in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam in wild game restaurants. Also sold as pets in some pet stores between SGD6-10 a piece for a 3 inch CL specimen. Their colours range from brown to olive green to yellow with yellow markings in the form of spots on the neck; more pronounced in brown or olive green-coloured specimens. They have plastrons which are orange in colour with black spots; also more pronouced in the brown or olive green-colored specimens.

Thanks Cindy,
From looking at other images of Chinese Soft Shell Turtles on the web Ithink you are right. I'll let my friend (the photographer) know, she'll be pleased that the "mystery" has been solved!!

I guess in that tank, he isn't getting a lot of exercise, hence his weight problem!!
Cheers
Glenn
