We used "squeeze cheese" for flyball for quite sometime. Never a physical problem.

Yes, but is it really a dairy product?

Good point. They get real cheese pretty frequently too.

Oh no! I hope Franklin is okay. I'm thinking good thoughts about him this morning.

Thanks everyone. Vet opens at 8. He had a peaceful night, but is desperate for water this morning, I gave him 2 rounds of less than 1/4c last evening and he kept those down. I gave him the same this morning, along with a Pepcid (although the dog who will normally eat any pill I hand him had to be pilled). He pooped (pretty small - nothing to pass for the most part!) and I bagged it for the vet. I'll be glad to get there, get him back on some IV fluids, and do either barium x-rays or ultrasound to find out what's up.
I almost HOPE it's a blockage at this point, as that is rather straight forward. Some of the options scare the hell out of me, so I'm hoping we can figure this out sooner than later.

I should think so! He must be awfully thirsty, poor boy.

Only an hour to go until opening time. Fingers and toes crossed for good news!

Yesterday's Parade Magazine gave the following list of foods never to feed your pet: Alcohol Apple cores Avocado Bones Caffeine ... ham, mushrooms, potato peels and tuna? I'm especially curious bout the cheese. We've been wrapping Cubbe's meds in cheese. Lia

Janet,
I am sorry that not only do you have to worry about Franklin, but you are dealing with a vet with no bedside manner or as you said the tableside manner of a rock. That does make such a difference. FWIW we are here to pick up the slack. Ya know, you would think that a Vet would have some care and concern for the owner. It has always made a big difference to me. I appreciate/insist when not in an emergency on a Vet that has some emotion. I just know Franklin is going to be A-OK.

Judith, if I recall correctly the ER vet was the one with no bedside manner. I believe Franklin is now being cared for by Janet's regular vet.

Correct. I LOVE me vet. She knows me very well and I have complete faith in her. She also loves Franklin and I know that she'll be totally honest with me as well as caring of him.
Off to visit him this morning..
