i read your post. i pretty much ignored it when you suggested that putting a dog in another room would "hurt their feelings". they're dogs, not children. -kelly

didn't read prior posts, but if i put one of the dogs in another room, i believe it WOULD hurt their feelings (or in behavior terms, cause anxiety). But that's also why I don't own pitbulls. I need and want dogs I can leave alone together. If I ever decide to be a one-dog owner again (can't imagine!), the APBT would be on my short list.

i keep mine in the same room, just in their own crates. so they still have each other for company. :-)
the OP was talking about how to keep their dog quiet at night, without letting it sleep in the bed. in my limited experience, letting the dog sleep in a crate next to the bed is a really good way to stay awake all night, listening to them cry.
call me cold hearted, but i think they'll get over it after a night or two of not being rewarded for their behavior (letting them out when they cry).

What with Moolgi liking to bounce across the bed (not walk) and Gen getting pregnanter, Moogli has been banished from the freedom of sleeping on the bed at night. We tried his crate down in the basement for one night, and he made a pretty big racket for a while. The next night, his crate went in our bedroom, and there was hardly a peep. Takes him longer to settle down, but he is pretty quiet. A couple times he started to cry, but I picked up the squirtgun and he quieted right up.

Ever seen the movie "Lady and the Tramp"?
Moogli won't settle at the end of the bed?
Hasn't he always slept in the bed with the two of you?

Yeah, ever since he became housetrained, he has slept in bed with us. And, like you mentioned, always between us. If he starts out at the end of the bed, he always moves up between us after an hour or two. He also likes to sleep snuggling up right next to us. Usually with all 4 feet pressing as hard as he can against Gen's back. She has been wakingup the past while with a sore back and having slept poorly. Also, seeing as he bounces a lot, he sometimes misses his landing and lands *on* her. When she wasn't pregnant it didn't matter/bother her all that much. Now that she is, it bothers her.
Now, when my alarm first goes off at 5:30, I open his cage and he settles between us for a bit. He sleep there until I get out of the shower and take him for his walk. Then, he wanders around with me in the house until I go to work. Then, I take him up to bed, and he sleeps in bed with Gen until she gets up at 8:30ish.

Awe that's sweet. I'm glad Moogli is still getting all that he always has. And yes I can understand where Gen is at right now. And definitely it becomes harder
and harder to sleep through the night. But then
that all makes sense. It's part of the biology
of it all. Her body is preparing for the lack
of sleep she will have once the baby arrives.

That was a forged post. Apparently, Michael's back.

Thanks Matt! I sure can't tell. I am
glad there are people like you
that can tell from the headers.
