I know I haven't been around the last few weeks, and have tons of posts to catch up on, but I've been busy elsewhere, planning and plotting Emotion: big smile

I've been caught up very much in a UK herp web forum, where I've met and spoken to many reputable snake breeders, with the intention of increasing my collection with a view to future breeding Emotion: smile)
The first to be added to my collection is a stunning Borneo Short-tail, or Borneo Blood Python, as I've now discovered, during a few heated debates, is how they are referred to in the UK/Europe!!! But despite whatever common name they are known as, he is definitely a Python curtus brietensteini (although I have it on good authority that the three subspecies, as was, have now been re-classified and are individual species on their own, therefore he is now known as a Python brietensteini) ... Discuss!! Emotion: wink

I have a few photos of him if anyone (Cathy, Sarah?) would be willing to host them for me, as I've still not figured out how to upload pics to a simple webpage, as some of you do.
He'll be arriving here this weekend and I can't wait as he's just so stunning, and his name is Ernie Emotion: smile
I am also hoping to invest in some special milksnake morphs in the very near future, so will keep you updated as that develops. My biggest aim though is to specialise in dwarf boa species, and this is the area I will be concentrating on most, as funds allow, and also when this year's eggs start hatching!!! Emotion: smile
Hope everyone and their herps are doing ok
love Chloe x

Well, HARUMPH!! That terminology is frowned upon in US herping! Tell those crazies across the pond they can call them whatever they like!

I WANT A SOURCE!! I asked Wade for one a few weeks back. I've "heard" the subspecies has changed but not seen any reputable articles stating such.
I have a few photos of him if anyone (Cathy, Sarah?)

Any time! You have my email address, yes?

Eh, that's my boss's name... a rather gangly disheveled lamer with a penchant for macaws, greyhounds, and large aggressive tarantulas... heheh.

I asked about Green again cos I'm still a little worried about his non eating.
On the subject of breeding, I'll be a regular customer . :-)

I thought I recognised the pic of the Royal, and the name is one of your old email pre-fixes
My brain's been frazzled lately with *** happening here (mail you later) plus another depressive bout with major agoraphobia, so didn't realise it was you :\

Well you know your name is already on a couple of the eggs when they hatch ... any day now Emotion: smile)
The other stuff I'm planning is a long term goal over the next few years as I'm now starting to buy in quality snakes, as and when I can afford them, to aim for top end breeding. Just to give you a little taster, I'll have some excellent womas and black-head's in my collection by the end of the year

I've already mailed Sarah, but I'll forward it to you for a sneak preview Emotion: wink ... but then if you've been reading the forum, you've probably seen him already!

That reminds me, the show I told you about has been rescheduled to 25/07 now, due to clashing with another event, so if you can make it down for then we can kill 3 birds with one stone Emotion: big smile

The one I've got at the moment is a complete psycho LOL! Actually she's not thatbad but I don't think she was handled much previously so she gets very insecure when you handle her and wants to wrap herself around you, particularly your head, which can be a bit disconcerting at times, especially if you're not used to it. She soon calms down though if she feels confident and secure with you Emotion: smile

Yeah sure, anything to help. Fingers crossed you get that Royal eating soon too!
Take care

PS I'm off to get a few hours sleep now, having been awake all night!
Am I right in assuming by this post that I am the only one here from UK? I thought this was a 'mixed bunch' here, but now I wonder.

I love these guys. They are one of my favorite snakes! I had 33 baby Borneo short-tails (Python curtus brietensteini) hatch out yesterday. They are so cute & not a nipper in the bunch. They do require good husbandry & large cages as they are heavy bodied & prone to respiratory problems. I've never had any infections in my Borneos & 3 of them are over 20 yrs old.
Best wishes, snake lady

Jolly good, you've worked so hard to get them through it'd be tragic for anything to happen to them now.
