according to the frontline company website for new zealand, it's the same product as the us. frontline top spot (the old stuff) does fleas and ticks. frontline plus does fleas including eggs and larva) and ticks. ticks do not have to bite a dog to be killed by frontline. neither do fleas.

Dogs can get lyme from one bite from a tick it takes frontline plus a few bites to not like the taste and let go.

Where do you come up with this stuff? Ticks don't leave the dog because they don't like the taste. Frontline (and Frontline Plus) has a neurotoxin that is absorbed through the flea/tick's surface, and causes paralysis and death.
Frontline (not plus) was up untill 2 years ago was for the control of fleas. Then frontline plus came on the market which inclueded tick control and cost 20% more frontline non plus was fased out.

Frontline and Frontline Plus contain fipronil, which is a neurotoxin for invertebrates, and causes both ticks and fleas to die. Frontline Plus has an added ingredient Methoprene (similar to juvenile hormone of fleas), which kills flea eggs and larvae. It has NO effect on ticks. Maybe regular Frontline was phased out in NZ, but it is still available in other parts of the world.

Things may not be as different in different countries as you might believe.

No, the world neither starts nor stops at the US borders, but you are, as usual, quite uninformed. Do you ... the same name? Frontline killed fleas and ticks. Frontline Plus includes an insect growth regulator for flea eggs and larvae.

Not what it says on pack or google!
If I'm uninformed forgive me.
Ok thatnks for that. I have only once had ticks on cujo and it was after a trip to the farm.Other then that we dont have lyme over here so we are lucky.
