See the BBC news about this Cambridgeshire woman, she's been selling certain breeds to takeaway restaurants and using the money to fund holidays in the far east. The whole thing is a disgrace.

A link would be nice. I don't see anything on the bbc, ananova or google news sites.

Perhaps it's an archived incident? Worth a look I s'pose.

Look away if you have time to waste. You won't find anything. I wonder what he meant by 'certain breeds'. Breeds of what? Oh and I don't live anywhere near any takeaway restaurants.
And when have I ever been on holiday? I post nearly every day. Plus the far east is not a place I would go to if I could get away on holiday. It would be the midi pyrenees in southern France, or somewhere in the Catalan area of Spain.
I doubt that anyone would live in fear of /your/ wrath mmolly. The poster is in UK.My wrath would take the ... Hmm.. Yet you repeatedly disrespect innocent posters' under the name ".. Molly", which I'm sure is your real name right?

Have you not heard of 'net names'?? Do you think 'toucanlady' is really Mrs Toucanlady? Or any of the other posters using net names are really called that?
I guess you are new to the internet?

Hmm, some people have too much time on their hands. It's very odd, I've subscribed to usenet for about 7 years, but only subscribed to various pet newsgroups in the past months - and I've seen more hostility and abuse on these groups than any other in all that time.

It wasn't always so bitter and hostile around here. Sure, there were the occasional trolls or flamefests, but they were a lot more entertaining. This group used to be very educational and helpful and had far more participants.

Until all the "new" folks showed up it was a nice community of folks who enjoyed each other's company. Sad turn of events these days, just sad.

Agreed, sad it is. It used to be that even the trolls here were fun in their own way. This used to be the place I always wanted to read first. I used to lurk here long before I ever posted and I learned a bunch about birds ( and people for that matter) Emotion: smile)) Unfortunately, the same sad state of affairs exists over in the African Grey ng. It was also very informative and had far fewer flamefests than this group. Do you know if all of the other bird ngs are this way?
