i read the post regarding podactyl cats....Me and my kids live in jax. fla..we have 4 full grown cats (1 male and 3 females) and they are of the turkish angora breed.1 female is of the "american breed", black, with deep ghostly green eyes with a stubby body..The male, SUSHI, is white longhair with a long white bushy tail. It all started when i allowed the children a pet. i have never been a cat person, but i liked SUSHI's attitude.he is podactyl. the only one in his litter to have the extra toes.He actually uses it like a thumb. All kittens from his litters are podactyl..(strong cat with strong genes) one kitten is all white long hair with blue eyes. i would like to upload some photos, maybe next time..turkish angoras like to hunt..so they have to go outside at times. I understand once sushi is neutered he will become more of an inside cat, but he had to establish his boundaries, and dominion, with other cats in the area. our cats litters are gone quickly, the pure white is in demand, but being podactyl seems to make them wanted even more.there is nothing odd about them..some use the "thumb" more than others..i honestly think that it will become the first evolutionary trait that humans will witness, first the thumb, then they will start talking..Sushi coos alot..when he has to get out of the way, he saunders away, slouched and i sware he is griping at me.(i guess you can tell, i am a cat person now) these are a very smart and beautiful breed., (how do they stay white?) But they are a very aggressive breed also.be careful not to hiss or breath loudly around them, first you get the death stare, then they will show you teeth..stop by then,,, thanks for listening...enjoy your cats. be kind to your cats..
Hope you do decide to upload pictures, great to hear about your cats!
I have had such great changes with my cats with the Furminator. I have been using it twice a week on one cat and then every couple of weeks for the other as his fur is not as thick and they really seem to LOVE it. I could see the difference after one use and the hairball cough up has decreased in this past month from 4-6 times a week to once a week and it is not nearly as bad or as long as it used to be. I LOVE it too. My boys coats are soft and shiny and they really look and feel better.
