Generally they seem to like it, but what about your dog in particular?

Oh my, I thought all dogs adored to swim, didn't they? I cannot imagine a dog that would avoid water. Maybe a very small dog like Chihuahua though.
I wish there was an option for sometimes! Emotion: smile

Sky, my GSD has not long started liking water. She will go in the sea for paddle but will only swim if you are with her. Candy, my collie cross loves water (but hates having a bath!). If she sees a puddle she's in it, if she sees a river she's in it and the dirtier and smellier the water the better!

I don't know about Luna, my mastiff pup yet. We've not been to the beach or to the lake.

Me too...Until I realise I'll have to give her a bath Emotion: sad
Are you going to train her not to do that? Emotion: smile By the way, I thought dogs must be wahsed after every walk, have I been mistaken?

No, she loves water and I'm not going to stop her from doing something that comes to her naturally Emotion: smile

Dogs in general only need to be bathed once or twice a year. The only exception to this are dogs that are mostly hairless or completely bald (chinese cresteds are a good example). If you wash a dog too much you are washing out all its natural oils and may give them skin problems. Dogs only really need a hose down unless they're absolutely stinking.

I mean that you wrote it in a funny way. Emotion: wink
I see, sequeena. It seems my knowledge about dogs is pretty poor. Emotion: smile I thought that since dogs spent much time outside where there's a lot of dirt and other filthy things, they had to be washed several times a week or even more. I'll have to learn more about dogs if I ever decide to get one. Emotion: big smile Thanks!
