When feeding our ball python, when she lunged at the rat, her teeth got caught on the towel lining the cage. We carefully unhooked her teeth from the towel but we are not sure if any were broken or loosened or what. She did not eat the rat that day or the next.
What should we do if anything?
Our plan is to try another rat in a week but maybe we should bring her to our exotics vet to see if she needs any treatment.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Best regards,
sharon

If she doesn't change her behaviour in the long term, nothing at all.

Snakes are set up to lose and to replace teeth. In general, this is done pretty regularly and completely uneventfully.

The episode might have upset her a little bit, so give her a while to settle down, she'll probably go back to being her regular self very quickly.

Thanks so much for this response.
My daughter was worried that it might get infected and require meds. I think she read that somewhere but it seems more likely that this happens in the wild and they just lose the tooth and grow another one.

Thanks again.

This is not impossible, but it's extremely unlikely. Losing teeth is common and can't really be considered oral trauma that might be of concern. Don't consider a vet visit unless behaviour or appearance become unusual over the next several days.
If it makes your daughter feel any better, I have had much the same thing happen with my rosy boa, except it was my hand and not a towel that the teeth caught on. Nothing happened, except it took several days for the teeth to come out of my finger. ;-D
