called the head doctor there and he said that waiting till tuesday is the only option b/c there lab is ... work has been taken (according to you) it's entirely reasonable, and there are no contraindications for antibiotics in this case.

Just curious, What country are you in? And what is your first language? And what Holiday are you celebrating?
I'd fire BOTH of those vets. Don't trust your idjit vet. One time my puppy had a UTI, and he ... just once, and they would never take it lightly again. They would treat it as the emergency that it IS

Is funny. You notice its all the women that are suggesting he rush the puppy to the vet?
More than likely, its because we've been there, while most men have no clue how mind bogglingly painful a UTI is.
I'll put it this way, on the first day or two of a UTI (infrequent, thank goD), I'm uncomfortable, but I can live with it. So I usually try cranberry pills to see if I can head it off at the pass (or at least minimize its intensity). After the first couple of days, if that hasn't worked (and sometimes the cranberry really does the trick), I head straight for the doc. By that time, if it isn't better, then I'm nearly homicidal from the discomfort.
I find that most male vets really don't get this.
So, since it just* started, he may actually have a few days before she's really uncomfortable. However, the problem is that if she gets really bad over the next couple of days, then the OP will be trying to find a vet *on Labor Day, which will be even more difficult than finding one today, I would think.

both vets i called (very reputable) didn't think it was as big of a deal as your making it out to be

Well, never mind, then!

No kidding.
Don't trust your idjit vet. One time my puppy had a UTI, and he was on vacation, said he'd be backin 3 days.

Even if it was something significantly less painful than a UTI, letting it wait for three days is not the correct answer!
Stuff that! I asked him, Have "YOU" ever had a UTI? he said Noo. I HAVE!! and although they don't ... just once, and they would never take it lightly again. They would treat it as the emergency that it IS

I have a high tolerance for pain. Even migraines don't really faze me that much, aside from the nausea. I had a UTI a couple of years ago, though, and that was some exquisite kind of pain, lemme tell you. I hope to never experience anything like it again. Ever.

i am the network adminstrator for the largest animal in the country,

What does that mean?
i called the head doctor there and he said that waiting till tuesday is the only option b/c there lab ... back. they also told me if she exhibits any abnormal behavior to bring her in immidietly whihc i will do.

It seems to me that she's already exhibited "abnormal behavior." Besides, what good would bringing her back in do if they won't prescribe meds without test results?
That makes absolutely no sense to me. Either they can diagnose and treat her, or they can't. If they can, then why are they waiting?
Thank you all for your help otherwise i would not have been aware of the the problem.

What help, exactly?

US Labor Day is Monday. Many vet offices aren't open on Saturdays. Most are not open on Sundays. I expect many will honor the holiday on Monday.

The thing is, this is a small baby puppy. Infections can get serious very quickly with babies.

To think a vet would turn down a puppy with a UTI just unbelievably pisses me off!!
They should have their veterinary licenses pulled. It's an emergency that only takes seconds to treat, and it's cheap. The relief that it will afford that puppy in the next few days is immeasurable.

I don't get it, either. Urinary tract problems are pretty serious in my world. When I've had vets who didn't take them seriously, I've fired them and gone elsewhere. Even in the rural backside of beyond where I live, there are multiple vet options, including a reasonably close emergency clinic.
