Hi,
I'm interested in keeping American green tree frogs (Hyla cinerea) but I'm wondering how many I can keep in my 29g tank (30l x 12w x 18h). Also, will they eat the freeze-dried crickets in the little can that they sell in pet stores or just live ones? Thanks.

They need to see some type of movement to associate the bug with being food. See the vibrating food dish I posted in the "Fire Bellies & Dead Crickets" thread... although I think that's crap. Live bugs are the way to go.
You could easily home 4-6 Hyla cinerea in a 29 gallon... maybe more.

That's why I quit keeping amphibians and lizards, my pet store's supply was erratic at best and I didn't keep enough animals to order by mail. One of the things I don't like about a small town is the limited options.
