re: Regarding The Great Green Iguana page 6
I wonder if I should stay away from any wild critters like grasshoppers and such.
Yes, you should. Your neighbor may have just sprayed them with lawn fertilizer or weedkiller. Or they may be infested ... grazed in the clover. They always come to me like a real pet but would a Reptile so this also?

I doubt. It will become more savage than before and run away from you faster.

Ya. I knew there would be many reasons. I am just used to letting the hamsters loose in the yard to grazed in the clover. They always come to me like a real pet but would a Reptile so this also? P

I'd recommend keeping a few together. Give them rocks to ... imported and will probably have a load of parasites. Jennifer
Thanks Jen. That reminds me, I wanted to ask about the head bobbing thing and perhaps other body language. I ... I wondered if it was a sign of aggression or fear or what. Thanks for the other tips too. P

I've always seen these sold as curly-tail lizards. They're not iguanas, especially not GREEN iguanas. I used to have one - he never tamed down. Read up on on the internet and ask in here about bearded dragons if you like them (DON'T go by what they tell you at Petco!) then get a dragon from a breeder, NOT Petco, buy what you need without skimping on cage size and heating, and you'll do fine with one.
Cindy
What about a leopard gecko? Cheaper than a bearded dragon ... seen them for sale online for as little as $45.
That I will definately consider.
Well, keep in mind that unless you find a reputable breeder within driving distance, the shipping will cost you at least $30.

Heheh! How could I forget that night?
Perfect description Jenn. Nothing like a tiny and cute toughguy lizard. I got latched onto by a baby leopard gecko at work yesterday, he just melted my heart with his little badass attitude!!
Also got THREE MORE hamster bites yesterday. Those jerks!!
fr0glet
Thanks. Great sounding advise. I will give up trying to ... does escape I will NEVER be able to get him.
Heh, hey fr0glet, remember my bitey little curlytails? :-P
Heheh! How could I forget that night?

fr0glet helped me worm some of my lizards, and it included three redsided curlytails. It was quite a challenge to ... bitten. :-) I deserved it, though. They've never bitten me any other time, just ran like heck to get away.

I hate those damned hamsters!! I had a Syrian and a pair of Russians as pets and they were just fine, but the ones in the store had real bad attitudes ... several almost ended up with flying lessons after latching onto my fingers

OK, Great Cindy and thanks. I know that Petco and the like are the Mac Donalds of the fast pet industry. I just need to find a reliable Creature Provider and stick with them. I first have to stop visiting these places which will be hard to do. Then I won't be leading myself into temptation.

That was one thing I was thinking about. The shipping having more of a traumatic effect of the animal than my wallet would be totally unacceptable.
