I rescued a small poodle mix last month. Sweet and smart, but when I let him out in our fenced in yard, he will not urinate or defecate. I have to walk him around the block to get him to finally urinate. Defecating takes a much longer walk. Sometimes it just pops out, while he's walking. I was crating him, when I left the house, but I've started putting him in the yard, if I'm only going to gone an hour or two. He has shelter and water. I think he must go during that time, because he's not having accidents afterwards. He's only had about 5 accidents in the month we've had him. One night, my poor husband stepped in his poop in the middle of night. No one scolded him, we were sure he couldn't hold it any longer. Any advice apreciated!
