Hey guys,
Still trying to find a REALLY good food that I can get at the pet store that the kids will actually eat.
What do you guys think of Royal Canin?

The kids like it and I can get it right at Petsmart...

I feed it to my boys as part of the dry mix. S'good stuff, IMO.

I like Royal Canin. I feed my 14 year old overweight cat both the Mature and the Slim and I feed my kitten the Kitten food. Both cats like the Royal Canin. I just which they made a canned food (since I feed my cats both canned and dry).

Royal Canin isn't necessarily REALLY good, it's just REALLY expensive, almost as much so as Wysong.
What, specifically, makes it better than, say, Science Diet Nature's Best? Or Felidae? Or even Iams?

They eat it. Emotion: smile
(the stores by me don't sell Felidae or Wellness or Innova) And I won't buy IAMS, even if they liked it. I have issues with P&G. But that's another thing altogether.

Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

Well that's fair. I'd much rather feed my cats Royal Canin than any of the supermarket style premium brands (except maybe Science Diet, but they won't touch it). I'm lucky enough to have a fantastic pet shop (Benson's Pet Center) very close by. I'm always impressed by the place.. the staff is extremely knowledgeable, they have a tremendous selection of foods (Wellness, Innova, California Natural, Royal Canin, Old Mother Hubbard, Nature's Recipe, Chicken Soup, Eagle Pack, Bil Jac, and Triumph), and their fish are better cared for than even the very awesome local fish store.

I still wonder what makes Royal Canin so expensive though.
