Roxy and Hendrix play with total abandon now. Roxy is still very careful of him, but they do it all now - zoomies, 'wrestling', bitey face. It's so funny, and they've really got some cute little play patterns. They will each play bow to each other and then Roxy will lay down and Hendrix will jump on her head, start chewing and then she'll gently toss him off. He does some clumsy little rolls, gets his footing, they do some zoomies, Hendrix plops down because he can't keep up with her, and then they start all over again.
The oddest thing is that they play totally silently. No barking, no growling, no nothing. Hendrix did let out one little play growl and that's when I realized they were playing so quietly. Outside! Is that odd?

Man are they cute together. I really need to try to get some photos. Hendrix is a blur in most of them, because he's moving so fast when they play. Roxy has totally lost interest in the dogs on the other side of our fence now.
One of the cutest things today was when Hendrix picked up a too big for him baseball, struggled to carry it several yards, plopped it down between Roxy's feet and then barked and bowed to her.
Disclaimer: the dogs are never together unsupervised.

I think Cali was 8 months old before she made a sound. But Maui would make noise during their play so it wasn't totally silent. I am not sure if that is odd though.

Well I think it's Roxy who is the quiet one, and he must be taking his lead from her. Hendrix was playing with the Yorkie puppy next door and they were all growly and snarly in that hilarious puppy way. Who'da thunk a Beagle mix would ever be accused of being quiet?? She really only barks when she's sounding the alarm. Now sometimes the alarm is someone walking
3 blocks away from here, but still..!

This weekend if the weather cooperates. By the time I remembered to pull out the camera this evening, the light was too low. My new job is non-stop go-go-go so even when I take puppy breaks, they are brief and I'm thinking about work.
