We have a real live shaved Siberian Husky here. It's for medical purposes - - he had some nasty dermatitis on his face and leg, then he had diarrhea in his crate which naturally got all over him, so DH washed him. A few days after his bath, he developed crusty stuff along his spine and the vet shaved that area - - more angry-looking dermatitis, probably resulting from the bath. Vet mentioned possibility of maggots and recommended shaving him all the way so we can tell if he develops more dermatitis.

Mukluk (aka Butthead) is a large-boned, very heavily coated, very dominant husky who guards the porch. He's an extremely handsome blue-eyed guy who loves to talk. He is now shaved except for his head and his tail and looks much smaller and pretty harmless, a fact about which he is, well, ***. DH thinks he looks like he's wearing pajamas. If anyone's interested, I'll post a picture or two on the greyhound web site, since I don't have any experience with any of those photo sites.

Reverse mohawk!

Oh, yes. Please do post pictures. Poor Mukluk! I wouldn't have wished it on him for the world, but how many chances do you get to be entertained by a shaved Sibe? It seems a pity not to exploit the opportunity.

That sounds like a cute picture, where is the greyhound web site? I feel bad for poor Mukluk, I bet that a nasty case of dermatitis is itchy and uncomfortable. I hope it clears up for him. - - Les
We have every intention of exploiting this opportunity. Will get them up ASAP.

Thanks; he doesn't seem too uncomfortable, actually seems more comfortable after being shaved. He's on tons of cephalexin. The site is our greyhound adoption group's web site, and I'll post where the pictures can be found as soon as they're up.

Mukluk the shaved Siberian can be seen wearing his pajamas at:

He's at the bottom of the page, after all the naked greyhounds.

Oh dear! He does not* look amused! *Thank you for sharing. He's still an awfully handsome boy, even with his PJs on.

He always looks like that; he thinks that expression makes him look scary to other dogs. Actually he is a little scary around other dogs, but no one else is particularly impressed. He doesn't look as bad as he could, and it is pretty amusing.

Clearly, whoever said that blue-eyed Siberian Husky faces are less expressive was wrong.
