Is there a good proven way to keep stray cats out of my garden? They dig everywhere and I just hate it. Aerosol repellents sold at pet stores don't work.
Try to keep the soil in your garden wet. I've heard it helped some people because cats hate digging wet soil.
The advice above is good. Also, oranges may work. Just cut them up and throw them out in the garden. Another option is chicken wire. Lay it over the soil; the plants will grow through it without problem but cats do not like the feel of a chicken wire on their feet, so they'll probably stop coming and digging.
