About 15 minutes ago, I stepped away from the Monday Night Football game (which the Bucs seem determined to give away) for a few moments, and when I returned there was a small but grotesque puddle in the hall off my living room. Promiently featured in it was a much-abused segement of multicolored Cat Charmer fabric. In short, Jack barfed it up, so the crisis is over.

At no point did his eating and drinking vary from his normal pattern, so it didn't bother his tummy too much. He gave Rizzo a marathon grooming session earlier this afternoon, which may have prompted the "video return", as it were. On the rare occasion Jack gets a hairball, it's always Rizzo's fur that causes it. Rizzo never gets hairballs, interestingly enough.

That's a relief! Emotion: smile) Few things make me worry more than a cat swallowing something that could become a linear foreign body.

Yay! That's great news Emotion: smile I remember my cat Mickey ate the back end of one of those furry mouse toys, including the tail, which consisted of about 4 inches of fur adhered to leather/rawhide. We were about to take him to the emergency clinic when he passed it via projectile diarrhea. Needless to say, no more furry mice in this house.

Great news about Jack! I had a cat who swallowed a nickel (don't ask me where he got it...) and had to have abdominal surgery to retrieve it. The vet actually gave me the nickel back..

OMG, I never heard of a cat swallowing coins before.

My son had a large pile of coins which he just left unattended in his room. Kimba apparently got in, and thought they looked interesting... This was a cat whose favorite food was cheddar popcorn... He ate anything and everything. He had a kind of sad beginning .He had been living with a family for a year when they had a baby and got rid of him. We got him at a shelter that is really a private house just filled with cats.

He was living in the basement for about a year because he didn't get along well with the other cats. He was one of the most fantastic cats I ever had (he passed away two years ago of IBD) but he always seemed to feel that he needed to eat everything in sight. He did weigh about 19 pounds... Judy F
Aww, he does sound like he was a very special cat and I'm really glad that you adopted him.

He was amazing! All white with green eyes and he was tall and big boned (in addition to having an amazing appetite...). Wish he was with us longer (only about 7 years).

OMG, I never heard of a cat swallowing coins before. Gad, some of them must be worse than ... tries to pull them out of the fabric. I can't sew at all unless she is occupied elsewhere or alseep.
