"Earlier this year, Vick, and two cronies 'agreed to the killing of approximately 6-8 dogs' that fared poorly in testing sessions at his Smithfield, Virginia property. Some of the animals were drowned or hanged, and Vick 'stipulated' that the animals died via the 'collected efforts' of himself, and codefendants Quanis Phillips and Purnell Peace."

It doesn't have to do with dogs, but it sure as heck has to do with crime and rappers. A certain quite famous rapper (now in prison) used to visit his criminal "friends." He'd park his Navigator outside their house, trot inside for about two minutes, then come back out and leave.

Those friends have since gone to club fed for distribution of you-name-it, and plenty of it. I drew my own conclusions about what the rapper was doing there. He was in the same "stable" as Kane & Abel: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1448870/09142001/kane abel.jhtml - produced by Master P.
The guy K&A were dealing for, Richard Pena, it's hard to imagine a bigger POS, or one with his tentacles in more places in the Gulf Coast. He was also supplying the unnamed "friends" of the unnamed rapper in the first paragraph.
Kane & Abel claimed during the proceedings against them that the FBI wanted them to roll over on Master P, their producer. People have been known to lie in their own defense, but still. An awful lot of crap in that bunch.

So I have wondered, from time to time, if branches of that particular music business are laundering criminal proceeds.
A number of the guys mentioned above were also pals with the Phillips brothers (who are now dead, hallelujah - we have law-abiding friends in their neighborhood):
http://www.cityofno.com/Portals/Portal50/portal.aspx?portal=50&load=~/PortalModules/ViewPressRelease.ascx&itemid=2925

I am completely unsurprised when any of these rapper types are arrested. When they call themselves thugs, it isn't a pose for publicity.

Pecan pies?

Pecan pies must really be popular down there.

I think that's as close to a sure thing as anything can get.

Nope.
First comes the thug, and then comes the rap.
