My cats have been around monitor lizards and three of ... to have to be really careful when she's around Tina.

I had the privilige to observe two cats I was keeping for a friend for a while interact with a ... however, the Nile's tail became the bat. The cats left the savannas and the arguses alone for the most part.

My two cats love to engage a 'cat and mouse' game with my beardies when they're out and about, and have learned to respect each other. But the snakes are a different ball game. The hoggie and baby boa are far too small to be fair game anyway, so I keep a cautious distance, but the corns are not sure about the cats (lick the air till they get too close, then adopt strike position and just stare at them) and the cats don't know what to make of the bigger snakes! They tentatively sniff rear ends as they disappear into hiding but quickly back off again!
I'm far too chicken, and love all my animals too much to risk confrontation, so maybe I'll never find out if they'd ever get along together!

I have never seen a cat taught a good lesson.

Dogs are another thing entirely. Jedder the black (now greyish) cocker spaniel learned the hard way that it was not a good idea to stick his nose into a red-eared sliders face. He's been afraid of reptiles ever since

Oh I have! Me in the bathtub, cat walking the edge maiowing at me, cat slips and falls in.. lesson #1.
Cat taunts dog by slapping him in the face with her tail then making a run for it, dog overcomes cat, pins her down and humps her relentlessly... lesson #2.
Cat refuses to be budged from edge of bed right next to my shoulder, I throw back the blankets and cat goes flying... lesson #3.

Cat attempts to get into the walls behind the closets upstairs in our house, cat succeeds, we unknowingly close closet door, cat spends ~36 hours in closet.. lesson #4.
Happens all the time around here. Emotion: smile

Yeah, but do they LEARN from it, or go back and do it again? LOL I had a kitten that walked around the edge of the tub and fell in EVERY time I took a bath. Cat ended up liking baths, I swear. She'd sit on my chest and lick her paw while I laid in the tub.
