Why does a certain hairy black dog sitsoutside and bake her brains out, come inside and chug a gallon while panting like she'd just run a marathon, then run down to the basement to cool off, and do it all over again?

Why is it that dogs that love water and take a flying leap into the nearest available stream or mud puddle, wallowing in it like a hippopotamus, hate being hosed down?
Why is it that the dog that a dog that won't make a peep if you accidentally step on her toes in hiking shoes screams like you're skinning her alive when you nip a millimeter of her toenail?
Why is it that there is a dead deer lying on a blue tarp on the side of the road where we have to walk?
Why is it that humans won't allow the dogs to go have the dead deer lying on the blue tarp for breakfast (or lunch or dinner)?
Why is it that the dogs are yet to figure out that in a contest of 200+ pounds of dog versus 100 something pound human, the human won't win, and they can in fact have dead deer for breakfast, lunch or dinner?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Are you talking about Queenie??? In her case, it's because she has no body fat. The other black dogs are not out there, and in fact Max hid this morning to avoid going out. I lured him out of hiding with breakfast, and then proceeded to throw him out. IAAMAS (I am as mean as Suja).
The rest I have no answer for.

I guess there may be blue-eyed wolves out there but the ones I've seen either up close and personal or on video courtesy of the local wild canid sanctuary, have yellow/amber eyes. A blue-eyed wolf would make me wonder about a suave, debonair husky (or two) somewhere in the blood line.

Yes

The same reason, I guess, why Finns go from the sauna into an icy lake.

Apparently coyotes do, too.

Why does a certain hairy black dog sitsoutside and bake her brains out, come inside and chug a gallon while ... to know. Suja P.S. From the 'you learn something new everyday' department: Did you know that wolves have blue eyes?

Yes, I did know that. I have no answers for those other mysteries of life with dogs, but I know wolves have blue eyes. Because so many people who have seen my huskies think they are wolves. Or Australian Huskies.

Do they look happy when doing that? Cuz Luna has a big smile plastered on her face. Also, she's been managing to drag Khan out from the basement when she comes up, and not only does she look pleased, she's also prancing when she comes up.

You got Coyotes and didn't tell us? Booo!

Oh my! Huskies came from Australia? Who knew?
Also, if you've got two hairy dogs that kinda sorta look similar, they must be related. The smaller of the two is the offspring of the larger one (although so far, one person has actually referred to Luna as Khan's 'wife'). I've also had a similar question about a black and white IG (similarly marked as Pan) that was at the dog park, who is clearly Pan's offspring.

Well, let me ask you something does Luna ALWAYS have a big smile plastered on her face? If so, maybe she and the Queener are sisters.
