Any ideas? I understand they use this term mainly in the UK - if they still do, that is. The first time I saw the word was in "Mary Poppins."
According to one source, the difference between dryads and hamadryads is that dryads are wood nymphs, and hamadryads are the spirits of trees, specifically. But IIRC, cobras live in fields as well as woods.
