Although Willie is a great companion he doesn't do much that anyone else might notice, not a lap cat for instance (neither was Max tho) but he sometimes has an effusive greeting for me when I get home, and often comes running out of nowhere for a scritch before plunging back into whatever. Like the other cats he would usually sleep on the bed but at the far end. (but now, since I had an adolescent male cat in the bedroom for a week, none of the cats spend the night anymore).

To the subject. I injured my back and knee in the beginning of August and nights are usually the worst and gettng worse. Willie has been spending time with me at night, right next to me. Last night the back was particularly bad, and Willie was cuddled next to where it hurt even after I or he changed positions. I appreciated his taking time out from his duties of preventing the voles and mice frm gaining control of the yard.

Purrs that your back and knee gets better (and hope you are getting medical care)
What a good nurse kitty! Many healing purrs from us for your injuries, Norm. Are you getting any other care for it?

I've read here from time to time of kitty caretakers and it seemed only natural - animals live by emotion after all so they would sense when their hoomins are unhappy or ill. Willie's reacting so quickly and especially staying touching me and where it hurt just amazed me and increased my admiration and affection for him. Last night was a better night for me and Willie evidently attended to his regularly scheduled duties. Norm (it's off to PT, tra la tra la)

Many purrs that your pain goes away, and scritches to Willie for taking care of you.
