Sham and I made our debut in small enclosed spaces (aka "rings") this week-end. Two for two! At the Mobile Bay AKC Obedience Trial, she took first place in Novice A both days, with scores of 196 and 194.5.
We've dabbled at obedience all her life, and only recently got serious. If I had really done it right from the beginning, she wouldn't have lost even the points she did - field "heeling" is a whole 'nother thang!!

But it was great fun to see her strut her stuff and enjoy the hell out of it! I used to swear that nothing could hold a candle to ducks for Sham, but I under-estimated jackpots and applause (Sham thinks ALL applause is for her for that matter, Sham thinks all TREATS are for her, too!! - lol!)

Anyway, a good time was had by all (including training buddies who also took firsts in Open A and B, two Utility placements and a HIT!!)

Yes, we're hooked. Problem is, now how am I going to find the time and money to trial in agility TOO???

Yay! Yay!
We're just starting the transition - Storm's done with field events until next spring and we're playing early attention games.

That's how Tanith was - except for her it was laughs, not applause.

Yay1 Training in good company helps.

Yay, Shammie girl! We had a success the last couple of obedience outings too...last weekend we managed 2nd place in our Novice A (I'm jealous...YOU are in Novice A!? ) for our 2nd CD leg, then today at a Sanctioned B Match we earned a 1st place in Novice A. It's beginning to be fun for me now, not quite so nervewracking! Our next trial isn't until the beginning of November, so it will give me time to work on some of that.

-) I just say that Bodhi is my "Learning Dog." Unfortunate for him (not like he cares!), but good for me because he is so willing & forgiving!

Awesome! At the sanctioned match today it was great, there were actually *6* Belgian Sheepdogs there! That never happens, and we all had a successful day! HIT (Out of Novice B), a successful Utility run & a puppy class placement in conformation for one friend. And the other had RHIT out of Novice B. Then Bodhi & I's 1st place out of the Novice A class. Yay Belgians! :-)

Probably like me...if it's important enough, you'll find a way. :-) Shelly & The Boys
