I never did figure out where the dragonfly came from though. I live near the centre of Toronto, near a ... valley is park, mowed grassland and certainly no swamp or ponds. Anybody any idea what other habitats they live in.

Practically anywhere, I should think - we frequently saw them in our yard in Minnesota, and "ten thousand lakes" or not, we were certainly nowhere near a body of water. I should think "mowed grassland" would provide them with an ideal habitat - ...

Practically anywhere, I should think - we frequently saw them in our yard in Minnesota, and "ten thousand lakes" or ... they eat smaller insects (like mosquitos, midges, etc.) so anywhere the latter exist, you'll most likely encounter the occasional dragonfly.

As I recall, the larval stage has to live in water, but the adults can roam away from water. The larvae can probably live in the river as long as the current isn't so fast that they would be swept away downstream.
Then there is my usual complaint about why they are coming into my apartment on the 16th floor.

My oldest brother gave me a webcam for Christmas. I was like, I don't want people seeing me when I wake up at 2:00 a.m. and post! I rarely look like a supermodel (although yesterday my hair did look particularly good!)

Weeble LOVES to play now. And climb. he climbs up on the bed, the sofa. and US (not good when you're wearing shorts)!!! We've blocked off the kitchen (we don't want him getting behind the stove or fridge), so now he wanders all over the house. ...
Jo Firey What a sweetheart. We always have a few jars of meat baby food around for when a pet is feeling off. Usually lamb as it is easier to digest than beef or poultry, but it can be hard to find.

What a great idea! Never thought about that before. I'm going to have to look for some/stock up in case Persia is off her feed.
